Set up the side panel.
From install to your first approved draft. Pulse rides along in a Chrome side panel, so there is no new tab to live in and nothing to migrate.
Add Pulse to Chrome
Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store. Works in Chrome and Brave.
Add to Chrome →Open the side panel
Click the Pulse icon in your toolbar. If you don't see it, click the puzzle piece and pin Pulse. The panel opens beside the page, never over it.
Get your connection details
The extension connects to your Pulse workspace with two values. Both live on one page. No Pulse account yet? Create one on the Free plan first, no credit card.
- Log in to your Pulse workspace and go to Settings → Extension.
- Copy the API URL. It is filled in for you.
- Copy your workspace key. It starts with pk_. Click Generate key if you do not have one yet.
Keep your workspace key private. If it ever leaks, click Regenerate key on the same page. The old key stops working instantly and you paste the new one into the extension.
Connect the extension
On the Connect your workspace screen in the side panel, paste the API URL into the first field and your workspace key into the second, then click Connect. Both values are stored locally in your browser, so you only do this once per device.
Open a prospect
Pull up anyone on LinkedIn, HubSpot, Salesforce, Apollo, Clay, or Gmail. Pulse reads who is on screen automatically. Highlight a name to override the auto-detection, or dismiss the context chip to turn page reading off.
Research, draft, approve
One click for the research brief, one for the draft. Edit or regenerate as you like. Nothing sends until you approve.
If something looks off.
The key was mistyped, or it was regenerated in Pulse after you connected. Open Settings → Extension, copy the current key, then click the gear icon in the side panel and paste it again.
You are on a supported site but Pulse cannot find a profile in view. Open a specific profile, contact, or lead record rather than a list or search page.
The page loaded before the extension was ready. Refresh the tab and reopen the panel. Most common on LinkedIn right after install.
You have not entered both values yet, or one is blank. Both the API URL and the workspace key are required.
Page reading only runs on LinkedIn, HubSpot, Salesforce, Apollo, Clay, and Gmail. On any other site you can still open the panel and chat with Pulse directly; it just will not read the page.
